POSITION: RD EngineerFULLTIME: Direct HireLOCATION: Irvine, CASCHEDULE: Up to Business NeedsPAY RANGE: Up to $180,000(Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base pay information is based on market location.)JOB DESCRIPTION:Looking for an RD Engineer with hands-on experience designing opto-electro-mechanical assemblies and conducting rigorous evaluations for supporting engineering decisions. This is a cross functional role, and the candidate will interact with the Mechanical, Electrical and Biomedical/Clinical teams to support the development of a wrist-worn wearable device for cardiovascular sensing. The candidate will also be responsible for writing test procedures and adhering to various industry standards. The candidate should have demonstrated experience running experiments to assist in product research and development. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and knowledge of medical device development is preferred.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES* Design, fabrication and rapid prototyping of opto-electro-mechanical assemblies.* Develop test procedures, protocols and reports adhering to various internal and external industry standards.* Conduct in-vitro analysis of Rockleys technology and design various test assemblies for in-vivo analysis.* Perform characterization activities with custom and off-the-shelf optical and mechanical components.* Create and present technical drawings, data analysis reports and organize documentation.* Assist in clinical study preparation and pre-clinical data collection.* Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS* MS preferred, Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical, Biomedical, Physics or similar)* 3 years of medical device industry experience, preferably in the wearable devices sector.* CAD Design, analysis, and simulation skills (SolidWorks experience preferred).* Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), programming skills (Python, MATLAB preferred).* Experience working with electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies.* Demonstrated work with developing test fixtures for testing and characterization activities.* Proficient in rapid prototyping, strong 3D printing (FDM + SLA) skills.* Strong data analysis and data presentation skills.* Excellent communication, organizational and documentation skills.WORKING CONDITIONSDuties are performed primarily in an office environment using standard office equipment such as computers. Position requires travel within the U.S. and International. Work hours may consistently exceed 40 hours a week. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements.EXPORT CONTROLThis position requires access to information protected under US export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.
