Title: Senior Commercial Property Accountant Company: Commercial
Real Estate Investment Firm Compensation: $100K - $125K/yr
Location: La Jolla, CA • On-site Overview Our client, a private
commercial real estate investment firm, is looking for an
experienced Senior Property Accountant to oversee financial
operations across a diverse portfolio of properties. This hands-on
role works closely with senior leadership and serves as a key point
of contact for property accounting matters. Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Financial Reporting • Manage full accounting cycle
for multiple properties and related entities • Prepare and review
monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP • Perform
month-end closings, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and
journal entries • Produce Budget vs. Actual reports with detailed
commentary on key financial metrics • Oversee treasury operations,
monitor cash balances, and execute payments • Maintain lease data
in accounting system, including new leases and amendments •
Calculate and bill Percentage Rent based on lease terms and tenant
data • Conduct year-end reconciliations and ensure accurate
allocation of expenses • Ensure timely posting of tenant charges,
including adjustments • Manage full Accounts Payable workflow and
ensure timely vendor payments • Track project-related allowances
and process draw requests • Maintain tax and payment schedules to
avoid penalties • Serve as financial point of contact for tenant
inquiries • Process receipts and oversee Accounts Receivable aging
reports • Handle manual payments and off-cycle processing as needed
Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in
Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) • 5 years of
progressive commercial property accounting experience • Experience
managing full-cycle accounting for multiple properties • Advanced
proficiency in property accounting software (e.g., Yardi Voyager) •
Knowledge of retail lease structures, Percentage Rent, and common
lease clauses • Microsoft Excel proficient for analysis and
reconciliations • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial
data and identify trends • Excellent verbal and written
communication with internal and external stakeholders •
