Pay Information $2,772 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: AWHONN, BLS, ACLS, NRP Required Must-Have: Must be able to circulate and recover. Scrubbing is desired. Description: Provides nursing care in a Labor and Delivery environment. Performs patient assessments according to hospital policy. Conducts initial assessments based on the patient’s clinical presentation, care setting, age, development level, and cultural orientation in a timely manner. Completes assessments including physical, psychological, and social status. Identifies and prioritizes further assessment needs based on the patient's clinical presentation. Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate. Develops an individualized Patient Plan of Care based on assessment needs and input from the patient, family, and health care team members. Includes a plan for discharge or transfer in the Patient Plan of Care. Identifies specific nursing diagnoses relevant to assessment findings. Identifies interventions for each nursing diagnosis specific to patient needs. Performs interventions identified in the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care. Demonstrates effective communication of patient care needs to all health care team members. Conducts patient and family education appropriate to age, learning needs, and readiness to learn. Includes family and significant others when appropriate in education. Documents nursing interventions and patient teaching accurately. Evaluates and documents the patient’s response to the Plan of Care and interventions. Revises and updates the Plan of Care as needed. Documents the patient’s response to teaching accurately. Takes accountability for conduct and independent decisions in job performance. Participates in unit activities aimed at improving services. Acts as a preceptor for new team members and student nurses when requested. Delegates tasks effectively to appropriate team members. Provides input for the development of policies and procedures. Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making in nursing processes. Triages and prioritizes multiple patient interventions. Changes priorities based on new assessment data. Identifies necessary supplies, equipment, and personnel to complete assignments. Analyzes collected data, weighs alternatives, and acts appropriately.
